We have a large, gas powered water heater, owned, Direct vented to exterior. I’m guessing there’s a build up inside interfering with a gauge or rod as the output of hot water has drastically reduced from original. The tank is approx 14 years old. Please advise approx cost and timing to have a plumber come out to drain, and remove buildup to restore capacity. If the tank needs to be replaced my preference is to purchase rather than to rent …. I assume you would have access to new units and could remove existing, dispose of and install a new unit?
We need a large tank with lots of capacity. Have had poor experience with “tankless” on demand units… FYI.
