Robin & Vern from Toronto
I recently received a letter from the City of Toronto informing me that they were installing water meters on the homes in my area. I arranged for an installer to come and was horrified to discover that the pipe coming in from the water main dated from the mid 70’s and was in such bad shape that the meter installer wouldn’t touch it. He strongly recommend that I contact a plumber before the pipe failed completely and water started to gush into my basement. In a panic I searched Homestars and phoned 4 plumbers for quotes. Vlad from Mister Plumber came to my home at 7:30 on a miserable rainy night, looked at the pipe, spent 20 minutes explaining what had to be done, went to his truck and wrote out a detailed quote and spent another 15 minutes explaining the quote. The other 3 plumbers arrived over the next 2 days. Although I asked for written quotes, none of them gave me one and 2 of them said they would have to replace all of the galvanized piping in the basement with copper at a price 3 to 4 times what Vlad had quoted. All of this happened during Hurrican Sandy but as soon as it stopped raining Vlad’s crew arrived. They were professional, knowledgeable and polite. They were very careful with the lockstone in my driveway and even replaced it (the other plumbers had said they would simply fill the hole with gravel and I would have to hire someone else to replace it). Vlad’s crew were very careful to clean up everything and left the basement, the driveway and the outside of the house as if they had never been there. I was extremely pleased with Mister Plumber and would recommend them to anyone looking for plumbing repairs.
